CADMA Forum Information and Rules

Our CADMA forum is back! It has been upgraded to a new version with lots of extra features and a responsive layout making it smart-phone and tablet computer friendly.

Due to the upgrade changes, previous members will need to register again, but this has been made easier with the new automated registration system. Initially we will see how this goes as it does have benefits like non-members can register and ask questions about the boat show, membership, sailing times and dates etc. However, this can be changed to a ‘members only’ system should the need arise.

Members will need to register an account to be able to use the forum. New members will receive an email verification link. Follow the instructions contained in the email. Once verified, members can then ask questions and post comments on the forum. The forum is split into different categories to make it easier to navigate and use. If there is not already a suitable category, post a request for it to be added. The best thing to do is give it a try! Any errors or mistakes can easily be rectified.

Terms Of Use

Below are a few common sense rules and guidelines for using our forum. Please bear in mind at all times when using the forum that we are a friendly model boat club and that our forum is on public view. It is a great tool to promote CADMA and help other members, along with many other fellow modelling enthusiasts with helpful tips, ideas and suggestions to get the best out of their equipment and sailing, and encourage new members to our hobby. Remember that it is publicly viewable, so please do not post any personal information, telephone numbers, email addresses etc. that you would not want others to know.

  1. Treat other members with the courtesy and respect they deserve; treat others like you would like to be treated.
  2. Please do not post any inappropriate, insulting or offensive material. There should be no need to explain this further!
  3. Please do not spam. The definition of spam is an irrelevant or advertising post.
  4. Please do not post text in all CAPITALS since this is considered to be shouting and is not necessary.
  5. As a user you agree to basic registration information (user name, email address and password) to be stored in a database for the puposes of using this forum. We value your privacy and this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent and we take all reasonable steps to protect the integrity of our website data. Whilst we do keep data as safe as possible, it does not make us immune from malicious attacks on our systems. You can assist us by using a strong* password, keeping it safe and not sharing your login information. We strongly recommend that you do not use the same password on any other websites. There is a forum password reset feature in case you forget your password, or contact the Secretary in case of any problem.

* A strong password should be a minimum of 8 characters, a mixture of upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters.

An example being: "34!Cad*9". Please do not use dictionary words and easy to guess names like "Rovers1".

Additional Information

Forum members can use the available ‘Report’ feature to report any post they feel is inappropriate or offensive. In the case of a breach of any of the above rules, CADMA reserve the right, at any time and at their final discretion, to take appropriate action as necessary. This could include: sending a polite reminder of the rules, removal of any post or comment, suspension/deletion of a user’s account, or in the case of any possible criminal offence, report it to the appropriate authorities. This action will be taken by the secretary/webmaster, and potentially by the hosting provider in serious cases. IP addresses and email addresses are recorded for security and safety purposes.
